Organizing Kids Furniture To Keep An Organized Room

September 4th, 2010

What is the typical cry of parents? Well, it is very simple and consisting of only three words: “Clean your room!” Sounds familiar? It is a continuous battle for most parents to keep their children’s room clean and arranged because kids will be kids and what they clutter around, they’d hardly remember to put back in the appropriate spot. No, you do not need to get huge kids furniture to provide ample place for them to place their things. However, when you are one parent who is very patient about making your children understand the art of cleaning, then you could find a method to make that possible. You will find just a couple of things that you would need to do.

First thing that you simply would have to do would be to take on your child’s point of view. Remember that what you see may be concealed in your child’s view therefore you have to get down to his or her view and make certain that you don’t get to appear like a bully. But then you have to make certain that everything that has to be cleaned is going to be cleaned. You have to head to every corner of the room to make certain nothing gets hidden or unclean.

One more factor that you simply must carry out is to bring the child into the cleaning up process. If you are the only one to perform the cleaning up, the only a person to put off the things, then certainly the kids will by no means be able to understand how you do the cleaning. Thus, there is no way they will be able to follow your “Clean your room!” commands. Getting them into the cleaning up will make certain that they have an idea of exactly what to try and do and exactly where to put things off to ensure that they will be able to do those themselves.

Sort things and put away all of the others that aren’t necessary in the room anymore. It is really a conundrum that every single parent find tough to solve. How will anybody be able to make the bedrooms of their kids organized when the surplus of playthings, outgrown clothing and things that have no other place to store are dumped inside the usually little and shared places? Therefore, you’d probably need to put aside just about all of those that are not needed anymore. You might set them up on a storage sale, donate them to an orphanage or hand them over to relatives which have smaller children. This way they would nevertheless be used and you could potentially keep them away without the guilty feeling.

Contain everything in locations but that doesn’t mean you’d have to get all the kids furniture and store all of them within the bedroom of your children. Remember that they will have to outgrow everything before long therefore the best which you could carry out would be to keep things contained in plastic containers (for the toys and other non-essentials), cardboards for the books and magazines and the real compartments for the clothes. See to it that your children will not easily gain access to everything as that makes putting them off more difficult. The best that you can do would be to keep the storage tightly shut so they would have to ask you first before they are able to play. Thus, you still have control over which things they could utilize and which stuff they could not.

Make sure that you teach your kids the virtue of loving their room in the clean and organized way. When they see that everything is neatly stacked in their kids furniture, you let them realize that it is much better that way.

Getting a very comfortable room is beyond price. Let your children enjoy nice atmosphere with kids furniture and kids furniture. You may also opt for kids room decor that can be great addition to your child’s place.

Removing Vinyl Wall Stickers And Decals

August 8th, 2010

We all know that wall stickers are easy to apply but how easy are they to remove? Simple with our step by step guide as the condition of the wall / surface, quality of the sticker and other factors will determine the ease of removal.

Wall removal

Pull the sticker too quickly and paint may become attached and also rip the sticker so the main key point is to keep the paint intact.

1. In some cases the sticker will remove quite easily so test the it by slowly pulling at a corner to see how adhered it is.

2. If the sticker isn’t budging then use a hairdryer (on a warm setting) to heat the edge, then as it starts to get easier to peel, apply more heat to the next area as you carefully peel back the sticker.

3. Above all remain patient!

4. If there is any residue left on the wall (not usually the case when heat is used) then use some soapy water to carefully remove. If this doesn’t work then a dedicated adhesive remover or even WD-40 should do the trick. As a last resort try some nail polish remover but use sparingly and test an area first.

Glass removal

Glass can usually be a bit tricky as they stick so well to it! Although, you don’t have the problems associated with paint coming with it. A glass scraper available from DIY stores can also be used to speed up the points listed below.

1. Straight to the hairdryer! Use a hairdryer on a warm setting, slowly heating the corner. Then keep applying heat to the area that you are peeling off until the whole sticker is removed.

2. If there is any residue left on the wall then use some soapy water to carefully remove. If this doesn’t work then a dedicated adhesive remover or even WD-40 should do the trick. As a last resort try some nail polish remover but use sparingly and test an area first.

Use the points above to make wall sticker removal hassle free. You’re then ready to apply some more wall stickers for a totally new look. Above all remain patient at all times!

Alternate Titles: Why Do You Need To Decorate Your Kid’s Room With Wall Stickers?

August 8th, 2010

There could be times that we are able to take a visit in elementary schools, day cares, nurseries, classrooms and even bathrooms with wall stickers. More often we do not really give more attention to these stickers though they are all around us. They could be seen mostly in schools or institutions wherein we send our kids for their education. From what I have noticed, every time I tell my children to do their school assignments when they arrive home, they feel bored and they do not have the drive to study and lead them to have poor performance with their academic works.

These days I could sense that my kids do well with their school activities rather than doing their homework. Their teachers could even prove it when they give the report cards, test papers, and even home works of my kids. At first, I tried to understand this behavior that maybe it is really different when they do their works at home than having them in school. This is just the same story for adults who want to leave everything in their working area when they got home because they want to separate home from work. Since I have this observation, I have to give my words first to my kids because of my belief that they are just being lazy. I never entertained any reasons why this is happening to my kids until the time came when my eight-year old child told me that their studying area is so dull and lifeless. He even told me that I never think of placing or adding something that could give life and color of the area so that they would also be entertained with beautiful pictures around while they are studying. This could be the reason why they just feel bored and lifeless when it is time to do their assignments.

Things started when my kids and some teachers had the chance talking with me. They recommended me to put something on the wall or around the study area so that kids would be interested to ask and learn more. Rooms should not only be perfect for sleeping but it also be good study area as well. They said that thinking of some decoration into the area would somehow provoke the kids to study more. Because of this I tried to ask teachers if it was okay if I placed some funny, educational and interesting wall stickers at home. What they did is, they let me look around and told me that this could be the reason why they put wall stickers, decals and other interesting and learning things to drive kids to study more.

The very next weekend, I gave the chance to my kids to pick all decorations, wall decals, stickers and wallpapers that they want to put their rooms. I needed to spend more for these but in the end, it was all deserving. I had also the chance to bond with my kids and get to know more of something that I never knew before. It could be that I also had the same choice before, but as time goes on, things change, As soon as we were at home, we were helping hand in hand in putting all decorations. This is not just favorable to them to learn more but this also makes our bond even stronger.

Looking back, I rather realized how dull their rooms were before, not that they were ugly, they were good looking but they were dull as gray. Because of all the wall decals, wall stickers, and decorations their rooms look colorful, lively, and they my children seem to like the new look of their room. After a while, I found them reading and studying. Now they spend more time in their rooms than they did before, and when their report cards came in, they are doing better at their homework than before.

Getting a very comfortable room is beyond price. Let your children enjoy nice atmosphere with kids wall decals and kids furniture. You may also opt for kids sleeping bags that can be great addition to your child’s place.

Easy And Affordable Home Decor Changes With Vinyl Wall Decals

July 12th, 2010

Let’s face it, times are tough, and it’s during these times that some of the things you would love to do are only going to have to wait. Changing your home decor is always one of those things. It does’nt have to be. No I’m not really talking about going out and getting a new sofa on layaway, finding that ideal accessory or using up a lengthy weekend painting.

What if I told you that you could change the look of an entire room for around fifty dollars? Interested?

Here’s the secret, removable vinyl wall decals. It’s a growing trend but a lot of people have never heard of them. So what are they? Well they are not the sticker kits you’ll find in the local hardware mega store that won’t come off unless your willing to take the drywall down with them. They are also not really the stencil kits you will find in arts and craft stores that in no way seem to go on the way you want and can just be covered with multiple coats of paint. The modern vinyl wall decals like those found at Splash Wall Art among others are specifically made for interior wall surfaces and they are removable! They won’t leave residue or damage your walls. They come with a special rubberized adhesive that will allow the decals to stick for up to 3 – 5 years or more and no curling edges and still remain removable. When you decide you want to change your decor you only slip a finger nail under the edge and gradually peel right off. How easy is that.

If you’re wondering how a little decal can change your home decor then you only haven’t seen some of the good wall art that’s out there. We’re talking giant polka dots, branches, six foot high trees, animals of every kind, both realistic and cartoon, giant music notes, palm trees, bamboo, swirls and hoops, you name it and it’s out there. There is also a fantastic selection of colors available so you can make your decals pop off the wall with vivid reds or blues or stick with traditional black silhouettes or a pastel color that blends into your own color scheme. Lets not really forget about wall words as well. Great quotes and phrases that you can put up around your home, whether it be a simple word of welcome or your favorite quote from Shakespeare.

Now for how easy it is to put them on. Ready? First you peel off the backing paper from your decal. Then you apply the decal to the wall along one edge and then apply it to the wall smoothing it out as you go. Then you roll off the transfer paper that the decal is applied to. That’s it, your done.

What you thought there was more? Nope that is it. I don’t know about you but I don’t think wall coverings can get any easier then that

So if you don’t have a lot of time to remodel and you want to save some money but still make some changes to your living environment give wall decals a thought. Give them a try and get your creative juices flowing.
